After spending twenty-four years as a printmaker Lewis has returned to his interest in photography. With new techniques available today it is possible to use the photographic image in a painterly way thus making an interesting transition from printmaking to photography. "I have always been fascinated by the mysterious nature of life. I have found mystery also in the creative process of printmaking after lengthy and sometimes tedious preparation the image finally appears almost magically on the paper. This quality is true of photography as well when the click of a shutter turns many steps later into an image floating on paper."
